This is an attempt to catalog various fasteners and connectors used in retro gaming consoles and other electronics.  I am assigning them "type" names arbitrarily so I can easily reference them elsewhere.

Type A - M3 Self Tapping Screw, Line ("Game Bit")

Major diameter: 3.1mm

Thread pitch: 1.1mm

Head diameter: 5.25mm

Drive type: Line, aka "Game Bit" 4.5mm

Length (inc. head): 14mm

Material: Brass

Found in: NES, SNES, N64 (external case screws)

Type B - M2 Self Tapping Screw, Line ("Game Bit")

Major diameter: 1.95mm

Thread pitch: 0.5mm

Head diameter: 4.10mm

Drive type: Line, aka "Game Bit" 3.5mm

Length (inc. head): 7.3mm

Material: Brass

Found in: SNES, N64 (cartridge external screws)

Type C - M3 Self Tapping Screw, Phillips

Major diameter: 3.05mm

Thread pitch: 1.1mm

Head diameter: 5.35mm

Drive type: Phillips

Head type: Pan

Length (inc. head): 11.4mm, 13.65mm, 15.55mm

Material: Brass, Zinc

Found in: NES, SNES (various internal case screws)

Type D - M3 Machine Screw, Phillips

Major diameter: 2.95mm

Thread pitch: 0.5mm (M3 coarse thread)

Head diameter: 6.2mm

Drive type: Philips

Head type: Pan

Length (inc. head): 8.75mm

Material: Brass

Uses 6mm OD x 0.5mm external tooth lock washer

Found in: SNES (heat sink PCB mounting screws)

Type E - M3 Machine Screw, Phillips

Major diameter: 2.95mm

Thread pitch: 0.5mm (M3 coarse thread)

Head diameter: 5.25mm

Drive type: Philips

Head type: Pan

Length (inc. head): 7.75mm

Material: Brass

Uses 5.1mm OD x0.75mm split/spring washer and 5.8mm OD x 0.5mm flat washer

Found in: SNES (7805 regulator heat sink mount screw)

Type F - M2 Self Tapping Screw, Phillips

Major diameter: 1.95mm

Thread pitch: 0.5mm

Head diameter: 3.35mm

Drive type: Phillips

Head type: Pan

Length (inc. head): 9.1mm

Material: Brass, Zinc
